MOROCCO, CONGO SIGN AGREEMENT ON MARITIME CO-OPERATION

RABAT, Feb 24 (NNN-MAP) — Morocco and the Republic of Congo have signed an agreement to further foster maritime co-operation and partnership.
The agreement, meant to boost bilateral sea trade, was inked here Tuesday by Transport Minister Karim Ghellab and Congolese Deputy Merchant Navy Minister Martin Parfait Aimé Coussoud Maoungo.
The accord provides for reinforcing co-operation in matters of maritime security, safety and pollution control and other related sectors.

Ghellab said the signing of the agreement followed many other accords concluded between the two countries for the exchange of maritime expertise and port management.
This agreement, which is part of South-South co-operation, will encourage maritime companies to open up routes between Casablanca and Tangier-Med ports in Morocco and the Pointe-Noire autonomous port in the Republic of Congo, he added. — NNN-MAP
